Spring always symbolizes new beginnings – nature wakes up, trees and flowers start blooming again and no matter how much you like winter, we always feel that light relief when the day starts getting longer and things around us start getting greener.
I love winter, especially winter fragrances, but eventually, I get tired of heavy scents, vanilla, and tobacco notes in the air and my nose naturally starts searching for something lighter. Something that smells like… Spring!
So if you are enthusiastic just like me about the upcoming spring and you need advice on what to wear during the spring, or you just want to get beautiful men’s spring fragrance for someone else then this list of reviewed spring fragrances will definitely help you in that.
In this list you’ll find a fragrance I personally recommend and that I’ve personally used, tested, and reviewed. For most of them, you have full reviews linked, so if some fragrance got your eye make sure to check the detailed review so you can know what to exactly expect!
For the list of the best spring fragrances for men in 2024, we tested 92 fragrances in various situations. Our testing protocol was simple:
- All fragrances were tested 5 times on 5 different occasions — daytime outdoors, daytime indoors, office, nighttime outdoors, nighttime indoors
- Longevity and performance, in general, were documented, and the average result was calculated
- We talked to industry experts to see where the trends are going in 2024.

I’m sure that these categories will help you choose what you like the most, but also bear in mind that there is no single best spring fragrance in 2024 and that the perfumes below are not in a particular order.
It would be selfish to grade someone’s work of art — you can’t say that Mona Lisa is better than The Last Supper, nor that Fur Elise is better than Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. Perfumery is art, and styles differ just like the personal taste.
This list gets updated every year and in general, I would say these would be the best spring fragrances for men in 2024:
Acqua Di Gio Eau De Parfum
Buy Giorgio Armani Acqua di Giò Pour Homme Eau de Parfum
One of the biggest hits in 2022 was the new Acqua Di Gio Eau De Parfum, and it’s modest to say that the sales went through the roof. The best thing about it is that the feedback from people was amazing. Well done, Giorgio Armani!f
Over the years there were multiple flankers of original (and at the time ultimate men’s fragrance) and all of them were… Well, fine. Profumo had the best impact of them all but it was obvious that the only thing left to be created was the original fragrance.
Acqua Di Gio Eau de Parfum isn’t the original Acqua Di Gio formula – it’s heavier, more earthy, and more herbal, and we can say it’s the modern version of the original.
It has a very good projection and sillage (much better than the other flankers), and longevity is really good, averaging about 8 hours which is great for warmer spring days.
If you are AdG fan, then this is a must-buy for you!

Club de Nuit Intense Man Parfum Armaf
Original Club de Nuit Intense Man literally obliterated Creed Aventus. Sure, there wasn’t enough depth that Aventus had, and yes, it was a bit hard to adapt to that synthetic smell in the first 10 minutes, but in general, the price, performance, and composition of the original CDNIM pushed Aventus into the shadow realm.
Just when we thought that there was no way that Armaf will be able to make it even better in the price range their fragrances are at, the new version comes out – Club de Nuit Intense Man Parfum.
The Parfum version of CDNIM has much more depth, it’s much more potent (performance is really good) and it has that smokiness we all were looking for in Aventus clones.
There’s still that super synthetic opening where in the first 30 minutes all you can do is wait for it to pass, but after that, it becomes a beautiful pineapple-oriented composition that lingers on your skin for hours.
If you like the original CDNIM then you will most surely like this flanker as well.
If you are a die-hard old-days Aventus fan, I can verify that this smells 90% the same as the batches from Aventus’s best days!
If you haven’t tried CDNIM or Aventus before, rest assured that this is a safe blind buy!

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Beau Le Parfum
Well, compared to the other two we mentioned above, just when you thought that JPG can’t come up with any new flankers, they find a way to create a new one!
This time, I can verify, they’ve hit the bullseye!
Ambery and woody Le Beau Le Parfum is the newest flanker of the Le Beau line, and its composition isn’t something you’d say is traditional for spring days – usually, we find light, ozonic, and green notes in the spring fragrances for men, but in this case, sweet and woody scent dances in the notes of Pineapple, Coconut and Tonka Bean and fits the first warm days of the year perfectly!
Le Beau Le Parfum is a really good compliment-getter, it’s sexy and seductive, and you can easily pull it off on date nights but also as your everyday fragrance.
If you haven’t tried the Le Beau line of Jean Paul Gaultier before, you won’t make much of a mistake by starting with this one!

Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Cobalt Eau De Parfum Electrique
We’ve seen a lot of weird bottles of fragrances (Paco Rabanne I’m looking in your direction) and Bad Boy Cobalt definitely falls into that category now. I just can’t imagine that a grown-up man looking for serious fragrance will see this bottle in the store and think “this looks exactly like what I need”.
That was my perception of it at first, but after testing it all made sense – this isn’t the fragrance for grown-up men, but for youngsters looking for a good fragrance to leave a good impression when talking to someone they like!
Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Cobalt is a really good, playful, and fruity fragrance with a very decent performance and price.
The opening starts sharp with pink pepper, the main accord contains the plum as the main note and the drydown goes to woody notes but still with the note of plum.
Feedback from others was mixed when it comes to longevity, but for me, 5 sprays of it work just fine for 7-8 hours.
So if you are looking for something that will leave a good impression or you’re just a Harry Potter fan, Bad Boy Cobalt will fit perfectly into your collection!

Narciso Rodriguez For Him Bleu Noir Parfum
If you’re into powdery fragrances then you will most likely adore the latest fragrances from Narciso Rodriguez, Bleu Noir Parfum.
The entire Bleu Noir line is amazing in my opinion, but they really hit the nail with the Parfum version – citrus and iris opening, dark blue drydown through suede, and dark chocolate vibes with a musky, earthy, and woody background.
This would be a perfect date-night fragrance as it really smells sexy and masculine, but in general, it’s definitely a night-time fragrance.
As with the majority of other Narciso fragrances, Bleu Noir Parfum has great longevity and the performance in general is really good.
According to Narciso Rodriguez’s website, this fragrance contains 89% of ingredients of natural origin which is very fascinating considering that this is a designer fragrance and that it comes at a designer-fragrance price.
So if you are looking for something sexy to pull out on a date night or you simply can’t miss a new powdery fragrance, Bleu Noir Parfum is a perfectly safe blind buy!

Terre d’Hermes Eau Givree
On our last year’s list of best spring fragrances for men, Terre d’Hermes EDT was the Editor’s choice for the spring of 2022 simply because it’s a universal masculine fragrance that expresses masculinity in all conditions spring is creating – colder nights, rains, daytime sunshine, etc.
Since our last review, Terre d’Hermes released an incredible flanker – Eau Givree, which after testing proved itself to be on this list of best spring fragrances for men in 2024.
Simple notes pyramid, citrus opening where citron dominates (definitely something we’re not seeing often in the perfume industry), and it’s just mind-blowing how such citrus opening gets a woody drydown.
The entire composition is fresh and perfect for sunshine days, and it’s safe to say that it will easily find its place on our list of best summer fragrances for men, as you can easily pull it off in high heat.
Longevity is really good when the temperature is above 60°F, but it’s not really made for night-time especially when it’s cold. Low temperatures simply close the citrus and Eau Givree never really opens properly.
Altogether, Eau Givree is much different from the original Terre d’Hermes EDT as it doesn’t have that super dry vetiver in the base, but there’s no doubt that Eau Givree will reach the same popularity it’s very mass appealing.
Definitely a safe blind buy!

Apex Roja Dove
What better way to start the list of best niche spring fragrances for men in 2024 than to open the list with Roja Dove Parfums.
Apex is an absolute beast (which the name suggests) and even though there’s a lot of controversy in the industry around Roja’s perfumes and Apex especially, it’s important to say that this is very niche perfumery – Apex, just like the others, wasn’t built to make record-breaking sales, but to tell a story about the idea, to capsulate the feeling the master perfume had and to be a subject of perfumer’s expression. To simplify, this is a piece of art.
Now when that’s out of the way, you can expect nothing less than a very complicated scent that evolves for hours and hours on your skin, shifting from one accord to the other.
When it comes to performance, Apex is a true beast, lasting over 12 hours and projecting feets away.
The scent itself is spiky, fresh spicy, and super green which makes it perfect for spring days.
However, this isn’t a youngster’s fragrance – just like all other Roja’s perfumes, if you are 30+ then it should fit you just right.
In general, I wouldn’t recommend this to be a blind buy, especially if you never tried Roja’s perfumes, but if all this above sounds like you and you understand that this type of fragrance is artwork, then Roja Dove’s Apex will fit perfectly into your collection!

Parfums de Marly Greenley
Buy Parfums De Marly Greenley
One of the latest releases from Parfums de Marly is Greenley, aromatic eau de parfum that has the goal to represent the breath of spring.
I always find it fascinating how PdM manages to combine classic french perfumery with modern niche artwork, and Greenley is nothing less.
As “the breath of the spring”, apple, mandarin, and bergamot dominate the opening without a single trail of synthetic scent, and the drydown goes through beautiful cashmere and woods, all the way to the rich musky base.
Just like the other Parfums de Marly fragrances, performance is through the roof with the longevity of the entire day and sillage that will make heads turn.
If spring actually had a scent, in my humble opinion it would be the scent of Greenley!

Frederic Malle French Lover
Pierre Bourdon is one of the most famous names in the perfume and fragrance industry, and when French Lover came out in 2007 it definitely had a recognizable scent of an artist who had his hands (and nose free) to create the piece of art he wanted. His most famous creations are Green Irish Tweed and Silver Mountain Water by Creed, Cool Water by Davidoff, and Individuel by Montblanc which proves how incredible he is when it comes to fresh fragrances.
French Lover is no less – very unique, fresh spicy, masculine scent that represents the modern gentleman. This is definitely not the typical fresh fragrance, but a fragrance that’s made to fit perfectly the work environment and big events in general.
The opening is spicy with a main note of galbanum, the heart is filled with angelica and an incredible mix of woody incense, and the base supports the entire composition with a touch of musk and dry vetiver.
Even though French Lover has been around for years, the industry lacks the perfect scent for the perfect gentleman, and to my knowledge, there hasn’t been a single one more worthy to mention in this list of best niche spring fragrances for men in 2024 than this one.

Roja Elysium
Every fragrance list deserves to have a fragrance that’s over the top in all categories and for this list, that’s most definitely Elysium by Roja Parfums.
It was made by Roja Dove in 2017 and Roja wanted to create a scent that represented the word Elysium, which is one of the oldest words for Paradise. And trust me, it smells like paradise!
An extremely complex scent that opens as fresh, crisp, and dynamic with a beautiful burst of lime and grapefruit, reinforced with pink pepper. It has a very special musk that works like a top note and it’s the only musk in the world that performs that way.
It’s definitely not something you expect it to be, nor it’s something you smelled before!
When opening passes, you get the notes of flowers and fruits extremely well combined. The heart is just amazing. What makes it even more amazing is a very masculine, leathery base of vetiver, cedarwood, and ambergris.
Elysium is definitely one of the best creations of Roja Dove and it’s definitely one of the best spring fragrances for men.
The price is pretty hefty, but in my opinion, if you want something that is nothing but a perfection, and you want to stand out from others, then it’s worth it, as Elysium will give you just that.
It’s more of a daytime fragrance which means it lasts around 6-8 hours with a solid projection of 3-4 hours.
This piece of art definitely leaves no one cold.

Parfums de Marly Galloway
Galloway was released in 2014 and it left quite the impression on people – just like Parfums de Marly likes it.
Very simple note pyramid, yet so well blended and mixed.
When you spray it, it opens with a combination of pepper and citruses which lasts for about 30 minutes. Right after that, top notes connect transform into a floral scent combined with white musk which pretty much sticks all the way.
Over time, white musk becomes the main note to lead other accords, so if you are a fan of white musk then you’ll most certainly love Galloway.
Some people reported that is smells like chemicals, like expensive toilette cleaner but honestly, I don’t see any comparison with that – unless they are using white musk to clean their bathroom.
Galloway is a beautiful scent that definitely is worth buying for spring daytimes and its performances are amazing in terms of longevity – it was simply unimaginable not to put it among the best spring fragrances for men!
I got it in 2017, and I still got it in my collection. I personally use it for formal meetings during spring, but I’m pretty sure it will work well even in open space parties.
Even though it’s declared as unisex and women can wear it, the reason behind it being on this list is that fits men much better than women.

Xerjoff Nio
Xerjoff has been known to create super high-quality fragrances and their presentation always gives that luxury feel. The best thing about it is that all of their fragrances smell just like that – pure luxury.
Nio has been created back in 2009, but to this day, it’s still one of the best spring fragrances for men and it definitely deserves the spot on this 2024 list.
Green notes along with bergamot and neroli push that citrusy opening, and after a while, a fresh spicy scent filled with cardamom starts dominating. The base is combined with dry vetiver and woody tones of patchouli and cedarwood.
As always, the blend is incredible and besides the citrusy opening, it’s pretty difficult to identify a single note that dominates – the entire pyramid is complex and all notes together create beautiful accords that evolve over time.
Performance is really good in terms of longevity but don’t expect it to be a sillage beast – it’s alright, but it doesn’t leave a trail longer than 2-3 feet.
I love when niche houses create fragrances that are safe blind-buy as they represent a great entrance into the world of niche perfumery and that’s exactly what Xerjoff Nio is – super safe blind buy, yet luxury niche perfumery like no other!

Mancera Cedrat Boise

Pierre Montale who owns fragrance houses Montale and Mancera was also the nose behind Cedrat Boise.
Cedrat Boise was released in 2011 and it’s one of the best spring fragrances for men – even though Mancera is considered a niche house, Cedrat Boise is an extremely easy to wear, a high-quality scent that pretty much smells like a designer.
The opening starts with Sicilian lemon and it dries down to fruity notes combined with cedarwood and leather. Creamy, fruity, woody, and a little bit smokey – that would be the perfect description of it.
Cedrat Boise is an absolute must-have in a spring fragrance collection and it’s definitely a compliment getter.
It prefers daytime but doesn’t mind nighttime unless we’re talking about the club or some other crowded place.
Performances are awesome – great longevity, projection, and amazing sillage.
Some compare it to Creed Aventus, but personally, I’d say it’s not even close.

John Varvatos Artisan Pure
Artisan Pure by John Varvatos was released in 2017 and the nose behind it was Rodrigo Flores-Roux.
It’s inspired by Xalapa, Mexico, where the freshness of hills and citrus rule.
When I first got Artisan Pure, it was just a simple ordinary fragrance for me, nothing spectacular. The problem was I got it during the winter and tested it on those colder temperatures.
It never properly opened and performed.
When spring came, it was like a completely different fragrance.
Beautiful, crisp, woody, and citrus scent with very decent performance and very likable, easy to wear.
It opens with a big citrus combo and dries down through ginger to woody notes and white musk.
Simple, elegant, and everyday spring fragrance.
Performances are not that great though, but the price explains that fully.
I read somewhere that John Varvatos filed for bankruptcy so if you want to get some of their fragrances this might be the last train to get them. Definitely worth trying though!

Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man (CDNIM)

As of the time of writing this, it’s a sunny March day with 12 degrees Celsius (53 degrees Fahrenheit), 4 pm, I got Club De Nuit Intense Man that I sprayed this morning around 8 AM.
And I can still smell it. My friends can still smell it. And it’s still there. As far as I’m concerned that should tell you everything about it, but just in case, let me briefly review it.
Club de Nuit Intense Man or CDNIM is inspired by Creed Aventus… or should I say Aventus clone?
It smells very similar to the original Aventus, with same pineapple in the top note which makes its “signature” scent, but in a difference to Aventus, CDNIM never reaches the smokey bottom. This is totally fine, it simply doesn’t go that way, it dries down more to birch heart and musky base.
Why there’s no Creed Aventus on this list of best spring fragrances for men and why its clone is here?
Well, there are multiple reasons:
- Aventus is not “stable” at all and I don’t want to recommend something I don’t believe in. Every batch of Aventus is different, and batches from 2020 were pretty bad.
- I can’t afford to buy every new batch of Aventus and test it (even though it’s on my bucket list to do one day – weird, I know – true fragrance maniac)
- Armaf CDNIM has AMAZING performance and the price is way more reasonable.
But let’s forget about Aventus for a moment as this is Armaf’s spot.
As I’ve said, it performs fantastic, longevity, sillage, projection, absolutely everything is on spot.
What I’d like from it is only to make that pineapple opening less synthetic, but besides that, this fragrance is an absolute must-have and it proudly holds 9th spot on our list of best spring fragrances for men in 2024.

Tom Ford Beau De Jour

Right in the middle of our list, is Tom Ford with his 2020 release, Beau de Jour.
Made for a perfectly groomed gentleman, Beau De Jour opens with a blast of powerful, commanding lavender. Tom Ford really nailed it with this one, as reviews of people who had it are more than just positive.
Beau De Jour means a beautiful day in French and that is the exact emotion this beautiful fragrance tries to evoke – a beautiful well-groomed gentleman, enjoying a beautiful spring day after a long winter.
It’s refreshing, aromatic, and fresh spicy which means that heads will definitely turn after smelling this beautiful fougere!
Lavender top notes dry down to rosemary and oak moss which are laying on a beautiful amber patchouli base.
It’s made for spring!
Tom Ford is usually on a darker side, but this release left everyone speechless and it even won 3rd spot of Fragrantica 2020 Perfume of the year for men.
I love it and I’d say it’s definitely worth checking out!

Gisada Ambassador
Gisada is a designer fragrance house from Switzerland and truth be told, we didn’t dedicate much attention to it. But that is going to change in 2024, as Ambassador proved itself worthy to be on the list of best spring fragrances for men in 2024!
The scent of Ambassador Men is truly unique, and it starts with a beautiful dense, and a bit synthetic opening where fruity notes of apple and mandarin dominate. After a while, the synthetic feel vanishes, and drydown goes through earthy and ambroxan-heavy notes mixed with mango.
Ambassador Men is a very complex fragrance and it’s very difficult to describe its scent but a few things are certain: this is definitely an amazing compliment getter and it’s meant to dominate the air around you pushing other fragrances from other people down. You can wear it to all kinds of social events including clubbing and rest assured that it will create a beautiful luxury, creamy and seductive aura around you.
If you are looking for a projection and sillage beast, then Ambassador Men will most certainly be the right choice. Performance is through the roof and it lasts for over 10 hours.
In general, Gisada is one the biggest shocks for me personally as I discovered it last year, and after testing Ambassador, I couldn’t recommend it more!

Yves Saint Laurent Y
Y is the creation of Dominique Ropion for the house of Yves Saint Laurent and it was released as an aromatic fougere in 2018.
Fougere is a type of men’s fragrance that would perfectly be described as fresh, made for someone who is easygoing – the sun is shining, the day is beautiful, and no stress!
Y would be a true fougere in that case because it’s very easy to wear, sharp, metallic, dry, clean, and fresh scent.
Apple dominates in the opening and as time passes by, it dries down to sage and ginger that are supported by amberwood in the base.
Lots of people made this their signature scent because it smells amazing and performances are great too.
Price, performance, scent – everything says this is a great spring choice and amazing “blue” fragrance!

Acqua Di Gio Profumo

Original Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani is one of the most selling fragrances of all time but a lot of time has passed since 1996. Fragrance got reformulated many times and lost its performance and original DNA.
However, in 2015, perfumer Alberto Morillas created the first “spin-off” of Acqua Di Gio and Armani named it Acqua Di Gio Profumo – yes, Acqua Di Gio perfume.

Well, you saw that one coming, didn’t you?
Yes, I know that lots of people have it, I know how ultra-popular it is and I know that influencers from the niche are telling you to stop buying it, but let’s face the reality – Dior Sauvage is one true masterpiece of perfumery!
It’s super fresh, fresh spicy, amber, lavender, and ambroxan, blended so well that only a pepper note sticks out during opening. It smells beautiful, and powerful, and it’s super easy to wear.
Sauvage is a top seller since it came out in 2015 and it’s a huge compliment getter – girls adore it!
However, bear in mind that lots of people wear it and that there is a slight chance that you get that awkward “You smell like my…” compliment.
Sauvage had a huge impact on the industry with its scent and inspired many fragrance houses to create something similar, but none of them were successful as a fragrance with the face of Johnny Depp playing guitar in the desert!
It’s undoubtedly a well-deserved spot on the best spring fragrances for men list as a future classic!

Creed Green Irish Tweed
What would the spring fragrance list be without one Creed?
Well, even though I’m not personally a fan of Creed house, there’s no way that the best spring fragrances for men list can go without Green Irish Tweed.
Green Irish Tweed was made by Olivier Creed in 1985! Yep, that was a long time ago, but Green Irish Tweed managed to win the hearts of many and stay on top of the spring fragrance game.
It’s just so unique how Creed makes their perfumes and the technology they use are much older than modern one – yet it gives amazing results.
Notes are pretty simple and the scent is something you might smell before – Davidoff Cool Water was released in 1988 and it was obviously inspired by Green Irish Tweeds. The opening is pretty similar even though Cool Water smells a lot more synthetic (obviously, the price difference is huge).
However, Green Irish Tweed managed to stay among the top fragrances for spring because it smells elegant, classy, mature, and versatile. The opening starts citrusy but it soon becomes a musky, woody, floral scent tailored for gentlemen and mature men.
Performance is also very good, it has strong longevity and moderate sillage and projection. However, the price is a bit over the top.

Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme
Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme was a creation of Jacques Polge back in 2012 and since those times it has won the hearts of many people.
Girls absolutely adore this scent as it smells very fresh, clean, and spicy.
The opening starts with mint and mandarin, and after opening pepper and tonka bean are there to stay for hours and hours. Even though the tonka bean is a sweet note, the scent is not sweet – tonka bean and musk from the base give it a beautiful masculine foundation.
Longevity is very good but performance is not the best. It’s good, but it could be done much better.
Allure Homme Sport Extreme is definitely a must-have during spring and summer days and if with it you will surely smell clean, fresh, and likable.
It’s my personal office fragrance and it always gives me compliments!

How can we not mention one of the clubbing GOATs even in 2024? There shouldn’t be ever a list of best spring fragrances for men where Versace Eros isn’t included!

Versace Eros is a masculine, sexy, and fresh fragrance that has been around for ages, and still dominates the space even though reformulations decreased its performance compared to the original.
Minty opening, earthy heart, and dry and woody base all together create a composition that smells incredibly fresh and masculine.
As mentioned, Eros works best for night-time events and for people who are 25+ it will definitely be a great attention grabber.
This might be the safest blind-buy in the world of perfumery that you can find so if you still haven’t tried the GOAT, make sure to do so!

How To Choose The Best Spring Fragrance For You?
Choosing the best spring fragrance for yourself can be quite a task if you didn’t smell any of these.
Of course, the best option would be if you can go to the store and try some of these out. If you do that, just make sure to spray it on your skin instead of on the blotter, because that way you will be able to see how it actually performs and dries down on you. A spray or two on your wrists will do just the thing.
Go after some errands or go home, and “monitor” how the fragrance is performing. If you like it, right away or after some time, just go back and buy it.
In the end, it all comes down to what you like. Never wear a fragrance you don’t like – it will just make you grumpy and tense all the time because the smell you don’t like will follow you wherever you go.
On the other hand, if you are buying online make sure to check out the detailed reviews. It’s impossible to imagine exactly how something smells which is why I try to describe it as much as I can, especially in detailed reviews. But in the end, you just can’t know for sure.
If the review says that the fragrance is “safe” or “fougere” then you’ll probably like it, because that means it’s likable and easy to wear.
Besides liking the fragrance, it’s very important that you figure out what you actually need a fragrance for? Work? Club? Date night? Movie night?
There are all occasion/all-season fragrances and some of them are here (i.e. Dior Sauvage, or Prada Amber Pour Homme) and they fit most of the needs, but if you really want something to stick out, then go with more aggressive ones. Search for fragrances that describe the environment you need and you’ll get there.

What Are Spring Scents?
Spring scents are mostly fresh, green, aromatic, and light woody scents and those are the ones you want to look for when buying a spring fragrance.
Fresh spices like ginger, cardamom, and coriander work beautifully during spring days, but also citrus notes like mandarin, lemon, grapefruit, and orange blossom work amazingly.
Spring is a fresh start, a time when nature wakes up, and when trees and flowers start blooming again. The weather becomes a bit warmer, and the environment starts to get green again.
That is also a perfect description of the fragrance you should wear during spring – light, fresh and green.
