There was no way that list of best unisex fragrances can go without Lost Cherry by Tom Ford.
The reasons are many and fairly simple:
- There are still not many fragrances out there famous for having such a good cherry scent
- It’s mind-boggling how different this smells on male and female skin
- It’s a huge compliment getter
In general, Tom Ford Lost Cherry smells fruity, passionate, and sensual, where (obviously) cherry note is the most dominant one. Rare to find sexy fruity fragrances!
Truth be told, the only downside of this incredible scent is the performance but if you don’t have a problem with reapplying the fragrance now and then, then you should definitely try it!

For me personally, Kirke by Tiziana Terenzi is one of the greatest perfume discoveries ever.
This was the first unisex niche scent that literally blew my mind.
It’s so difficult to actually describe what this smells like – it’s the sweet fruity bomb, where the passionfruit note along with the peach note, dominates the entire composition. After sweet fruity opening passes, drydown becomes super musk heavy, and all that fruitiness and sweetness mix into something almost animalic.
It’s super sensual, alluring, and extremely potent – concentration is extrait de parfum and this literally screams off your skin.
Not the safest blind buy, but definitely something you never smelled before. It’s super unique, and I still didn’t find anything similar to it.

Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur

When Frederic Malle talked to Maurice Roucel about his Editions de Parfums line he asked if he has a “gem tucked away”. Among all of his unpublished creations, Roucel pulled out a Musc Ravageur and presented it to him by saying “It’s the best thing I ever created, but people think it’s too much, too dirty, too sexual, too torrid”.

Parisian avant-garde mixed with African culture – that’s the scent of Byredo Bal d’Afrique.
To be more precise, citruses, tagetes, and black currant in the opening are very dominant, and the opening is actually what reveals its entire DNA. Floral heart supported by vetiver and musk from the base balances the juiciness with dryness, making a perfect balance of both worlds.
It’s aromatic, somewhat woody, and creamy, but more floral and fruity – definitely the signature type of scent!
As Bal d’Afrique is very safe and non-offensive but still very solid and well-made, you can wear it anywhere – it can be a great casual wear, office scent, or even for some special occasion.

One of Tom Ford’s biggest hits came out in 2006 and to this day, it remains one of the most iconic fragrances that inspired many perfumes to start learning the craft of perfumery.
Black Orchid came out and not so long after, it completely started dominating the world of dark, sensual, and sexy fragrances.
Notes pyramid is simply mental, super complex, and rich, but the blend is absolutely perfect (just like with any other Tom Ford fragrance). The most dominant notes that you can feel are vanilla, chocolate, spices, patchouli, and amber.
It’s dark, it’s super sensual, and incredibly sexy.
What’s interesting is that Tom Ford Black Orchid was released as a fragrance for women, but as someone who went berserk with it for the first 2 bottles, and later used 3 more in special events, I’ll tell you straight away – this is a completely unisex fragrance.
Softer notes such as chocolate and some floral nuances are more dominant on female skin, but on male skin, it’s much darker and I’d dare to say potent.
It’s still amazing for clubbing, date nights, or even spicy time with your significant other!

What would this list be without fresh, clean, and marine scents that everyone can wear?
Well, in that world, one of the few that dominate it from the unisex standpoint of view is definitely Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt.
Truth be told, this isn’t the most unique fragrance in the world, and frankly, to some, it’s even overpriced. However, I beg to differ (which is also the reason why is it on this list).
Right after the initial spray, you get synthetic salty aldehydic accord which keeps lingering till the end of the fragrance’s lifespan. When we say synthetic, it doesn’t mean bad, but just it’s obvious that there aren’t many natural oils used because the scent is supposed to be airy and salty.
You can definitely smell the sage note, but there are no woods in it. In fact, I believe they named it wood as it kinda has that vibe of an old log on the beach washed up by sea, sand, and salt, and that’s the scent you can sense later once the drydown reaches base.
Overall, Wood Sage & Sea Salt is a very clean, aromatic, and marine type of scent that can be a perfect signature scent as it blends perfectly into casual wear and office environment.
Performance could be a bit better, and the price could be a bit cheaper but you can fix those things:

Please greet one of the reigning fragrances in the realm of boozy scent – Side Effect by Inito Parfums Prives!
It’s super rare to find the boozy fragrance to be unisex – they are usually made for men as those notes are usually masculine.
However, Initio managed to make this fragrance both masculine and feminine, depending on which skin it’s applied to!
Side Effect only has 4 notes – rum, vanilla, tobacco, and cinnamon.
Rum is the note that dominates with that boozy scent, vanilla makes it sweet, tobacco makes it a bit dirty with caramel and whiskey undertones and cinnamon makes it spicy.
So that’s exactly what Initio Side Effect smells like – boozy, sweet, and spicy!
On the other hand, it’s always fascinating to see how incredible blends such as this one, differently react to male and female skin – the boozy note definitely adds up to masculinity when worn by a man, but sweet and sensual scent dominates and adds to the feminine side of things when worn by a woman. Absolute masterpiece!
It’s worth noting that the performance of Side Effect is monstrous, so definitely make sure not to overapply it.

What does nothing smell like?
That’s exactly how difficult is to describe the scent of Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules because it only contains one single note – ISO E Super.
So what does ISO E Super smell like?
Well, ISO E Super is actually an aroma chemical, but many would agree that it has a “synthetic woody cozy ambery musky” scent. However, the reality is that ISO E Super doesn’t serve as the note with scent identity, but as a chemical that mixes with your skin pheromones and exaggerates your natural skin scent.
Basically, you apply it to boost your natural odor.
Then why would it be on this list of best unisex fragrances… When it’s not even a fragrance?
Because:
- everyone can wear it
- it smells different on absolutely everyone
- you can mix it with any fragrance you like
By spraying this you can definitely attract the nose of the opposite sex but rest assured that they won’t be able to identify what are you actually wearing because basically, you’re not wearing anything but your own scent your skin produces.
I have no idea why, but this gets me compliments every single time, and frankly, it’s not rare that I mix it with other fragrances.
If you have a couple of fragrances I recommend getting Molecule 01 – you can test it out plain, or in combination with others. One thing is safe – you can’t go wrong with it!

Silver Mountain Water is a true masterclass of unisex fragrance and it’s incredibly mass-appealing.
Dominant green tea note mixed with citruses in the opening, black currant in the heart, and heavy musks from base. Silver Mountain Water smells fresh, clean, and green. It has that somewhat airy scent of cold mountain air during summer. Simply refreshing and beautiful.
Silver Mountain Water is amazing casual wear and office scent as it’s non-offensive, but you can wear it to other events as well. Not a good idea to wear it to crowded places as it won’t be able to break free.
Also, super safe blind buy which in case you don’t like, you can easily sell in some fragrance communities.
Acqua Di Parma Blu Mediterraneo – Fico di Amalfi

Blu Mediterraneo line by Acqua di Parma achieved great success and it quickly became super popular and Fico di Amalfi definitely got the most hype.
Fresh, clean, marine scent where the citrus notes dominate the opening, fruity notes of fig nectar and sharp pink pepper dominate the heart, and a beautiful base of smooth benzoin and fig tree supports the composition.
This literally smells like the fig on the Amalfi coast!
Incredibly unisex, it perfectly fits everyone during hot summer days.
Performance could be a bit better, but if you learn how to properly apply the fragrance, you might get a few extra hours of it!

Famous for creating Secretion Magnifique, Etat Libre d’Orange actually has a ton of fragrances that are very underrated and I personally feel like people should give them a try.
One of the best mint fragrances I ever smelled is “You or Someone Like You” which came out in 2017.
If you love green scents and natural-smelling fragrances, then You or Someone Like You will blow your mind – it has a very powerful minty opening with a slight touch of citruses, green notes in the heart, and a light base of white musk.
Heavy mint goes away with opening, but you’re left with a green scent that is a bit bitter, but fresh at the same time.
Truly a beautiful scent that will easily become a favorite for anyone who likes minty and green vibes!
It’s also worth noting that even though this is a niche fragrance, and the quality of the scent is incredible, the price tag makes it really affordable!

Andy Tauer wanted to capture the scent of the air in the Marocain desert. He wanted to bottle it and whenever he sprays it, it gets him back to that amazing place.
That’s how L’Air du Desert Marocain was born.
Even though it was created in 2005, and even though many say that it leans more towards male fragrances than unisex, L’Air du Desert Marocain proudly holds this spot because:
- It’s one of the most beautiful pieces of art in the niche world of perfumery
- regardless of what others say, I’ve seen women wearing it with ease
- hard to find that someone doesn’t like it
L’Air du Desert Marocain smells aromatic, woody, and ambery where the coriander spices, amber, and woods lead the entire composition.
If we were to picture the scent better, I’d say it smells very Middle Eastern but in a Western way. Many actually reported that it smells identical to the spice market of the Marocain desert.
A genuinely beautiful unisex fragrance with a beautiful story and a huge compliment-getting factor!

Last but not least, there’s Erba Pura, one of Memo Xerjoff’s best creations ever.
This incredible unisex fragrance is fruity, sweet, and somewhat musky, but with that description, you basically don’t know anything about its scent.
It’s hard to describe it as “fruits” are the official heart note of Erba Pura, but it is somewhat similar to Kirke. It’s like a tropical fruity plate full of various fruits with a very intense scent. It’s luxurious, very alluring, and captivating.
Since its release in 2019, it became one of the most iconic Xerjoff fragrances thanks to its uniqueness, magnificent blend, and powerful performance.
A very important piece for any fragrance collector!
